Hi Everyone, as Housemarque celebrates 25 years this year, we can look back at a lot of wonderful projects we've done with PlayStation. Over the last 14 years we have been able to leave our mark on the arcade genre with titles like Stardust, Dead Nation, and Alienation. Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Housemarque at The Game Awards 2020 announced the third-person roguelike shooter, Returnal , will launch for the PlayStation 5 on March 19, 2021.

Announced at The Game Awards 2020, the release date should come as a warm welcome for those looking for an update on the game. Announced back in June , the game is still shrouded in mystery, but it's pretty clear that it involves some alien stuff and a cyclical gameplay loop. There's some really weird stuff in this game. Leaked through a Best Buy Canada listing , Housemarque's Returnal is officially confirmed to release on March 19th 2021 for PS5. A new trailer was showcased that offered a lot more combat gameplay, from different weapons to a boss encounter. Check it out below.
The gameplay is fairly reminiscent of the developer's arcade shoot 'em ups, albeit from the third person perspective. Protagonist Selene dashes and leaps through environments, utilizing all kinds of energy weapons to tear opponents apart. At one point, she even pulls out what seems to be a sword and we're all about it.
