Sony Finally Acknowledges PS Plus Classics Performance Issues in Some Regions

Sony has finally acknowledged performance issues plaguing PS Plus classics in regions where players are stuck with PAL versions, promising to offer the superior NTSC option soon. Although this problem has been highlighted multiple times since the revamped service first rolled out in Asia, it wasn't until yesterday's launch in Europe that the company released a statement on the matter.

To help promote the global launch of the revamped PS Plus subscription service, which features additional games from across every PlayStation console generation, Sony is tugging on the heartstrings of long-term fans with a new commercial. In the new PS Plus trailer, a live-action video entitled “Mr. Malcolm,” a man explores his basement filled with PlayStation memorabilia, of which there are over a dozen Easter eggs, tied to games like Bloodborne and Uncharted, which fans can try to spot.

PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe to Add NTSC Options for Classic Games in Asia, Australia, and More

The all-new PlayStation Plus is officially available worldwide, whether it's North and South America, Europe, Asia or India. It's had its fair share of hiccups though. In non-PAL regions, PlayStation One titles in the Premium/Deluxe tier were reported as running at 50 Hz. Fortunately, NTSC options are inbound.
The PlayStation Europe Twitter said, “We're planning to roll out NTSC options for a majority of classic games offered on the PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe plan in Asia, Europe, Middle East, India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand regions.”
