In a rollercoaster ride of an announcement today, there's an otherworldly new PixelJunk game coming out on March 1, and it isn't a sequel, which excites me - but only Stadia players will be able to try it out.
This new roguelike action-adventure game, PixelJunk Raiders , will " launch exclusively " on Stadia. It'll be available on the streaming platform for $20, or freely playable with a Stadia Pro subscription. Drat.
It's honestly a bummer to see one of my favorite studios tied down to a single platform like this, doubly so in the aftermath of Google unceremoniously ditching its internal...

PixelJunk Raiders, a roguelike adventure game in the long-running PixelJunk franchise, is coming to Stadia next week.
And it's coming to Stadia before any other platform, representing a minor coup for the platform that recently lost out on a port of Terraria and closed its own first-party studio earlier this month.
The game sees you exploring a hostile environment and killing aliens. It boasts procedurally generated terrain and various populated areas and geological features. It looks pretty slick, like a sci-fi Breath of the Wild - a far cry from the stylish but simplistic early PixelJunk...

Stadia may not have any first-party titles coming, but it does have PixelJunk Raiders, its next exclusive game. The PixelJunk series of games from Kyoto, Japan-based Q-Games has been around for years and is immensely popular.

While Google hasn't secured as many exclusive titles for Stadia as competing platforms, there has been a slow trickle of indie games arriving first on the streaming service. Google today announced another game coming to Stadia before anywhere else: PixelJunk Raiders.
The PixelJunk series has been ongoing since PixelJunk Racers on the PS3 in 2007, and this new entry is an 'action-adventure rogue-like' that takes players through treacherous environments as they battle aliens.
